The Australian and New Zealand governments have led the way for setting guidelines for safe occupation of 0.5µg/100 cm2 in Australia and 1.5µg/100 cm2 in New Zealand respectively. Some states in the United States of America are as low as 0.1µg/100 cm2

Meth Testing

Methamphetamine (meth labs) and other clandestine laboratories (clan labs) have become more of a public health risk in recent years. More often affecting residential properties with colourless and odourless residues that can have negative impacts on unsuspecting people, children and pets.

Fire and Smoke Damage

Fires affecting buildings may include Wild or Bush fires, UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) Battery fires, Protein fires from cooking and electrical fires from motor burn out or heating elements.

Where fire may not have directly caused visible damage to a property, heat and smoke as a result of the fire combustion can have lasting effects on the property including, its stored water, building structure and their materials. Combustion particulates can destroy electronics, tank water, soil and cause impregnated damage to porous materials with toxic fumes that may off gas odours for months and years. While battery fires can leave toxic amounts of heavy metals behind if not addressed.

Soot, char and ash are by products from wild and bush fires, protein, structural and electrical fires. Where remediation validation is desired it is best to have a screening occur before remediation to offer an evaluation with measurable reductions of the screened data and analytes prior to cleaning.

Viral Contamination Cleaning Validation

Monitoring whether a professional cleaning process has been effective in reducing the risk of viral (SARS COV 2 or COVID-19 included) contamination can be achieved through varying test methods. Validating the cleaning method offers confidence that due diligence is being implemented and gives confidence to staff, patrons and students.
